Google have come under quite a bit of flack lately when their flagship video channel YouTube was proven to be putting adverts on controversial video content.
“We’ve begun a thorough review of our ads policies and brand controls, and we will be making changes in the coming weeks to give brands more control over where their ads appear across YouTube and the Google Display Network.”
With the like of IS putting videos of their campaigns and atrocities, preachers flaunting hate speech and other gory viewings online to see for everybody. Some f their biggest advertisers have now demanded that they get where their adverts appear under control.
Google spends millions of dollars every year and employs thousands of people to rid the web of bad ads. In addition, the company has policies in place to prevent ads from appearing on pages or videos with hate speech, gory or offensive content.
But it is deemed that they are not doing enough and these big advertisers are threatening to pull their ads completely.
The threats seem to be working too as Google CEO this week came and apologised and told the world’s media that they will do better.
